Sometimes “St. Pat’s” for short, this religious and cultural celebration takes place on March 17th. Also celebrated in Canada and amongst Irish diasporas, Saint Patrick's Day is a public holiday in Newfoundland and Labrador filled with parades , street parties, green, and lots of Irish beer and whiskey.
In early July, Ukrainian-Canadians celebrate “Pysanka.” Pysanka Festival brings the town and many generations together to share Ukrainian culture, music, and dance.
Celebrated on July 14th as the “National Day of France,” in Canada, the “Bastille Day Festival” is organized by the French community. Celebrations include music, food, performances, sports, exhibitions, and street markets.
Celebrated on September 19th, this Neapolitan and Italian-American festival is dedicated to Saint Januarius, the patron of Naples and Little Italy in New York. Originally a one-day religious festival, it is now an annual 11-day street celebration that attracts tourists globally.
In Kitchener–Waterloo, Canada, Oktoberfest is an annual nine-day festival based on the German "Oktoberfest." It's the largest Oktoberfest in Canada and the second-largest in the world. Festivities begin on the Friday before the Canadian Thanksgiving and end on the Saturday after.
